Hunger and malnutrition were identified as critical needs in Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, and India. The Farmer Program model provides individuals with seeds which they will plant and harvest, thereby helping them to become self sufficient. The building of a safe and vibrant children’s playground. Economic Empowerment
In Kampala, Uganda, the Ageno Foundation works with the Women Empowerment Program, WEP. The Women Empowerment Program helps women in Uganda to start a sewing, baking, and catering business and become self-supportive.
The Ageno Foundation has been able to supply women with 1 oven, 2 sewing machines, and one catering team of 10 women. There is also Poultry Raising, Farming Program, and other skills training for example, making liquid & bar soap, vaseline, chalk and sanitary products. Due to the success of this program, it is expanded to include men.
Highlights:
Ageno assisted with the (MTEP) Mercy Train Empowerment Program run by Daniel Njerie, in Kenya. Empowering women socially and economically, appropriately. There are 100 women in this program.
In Uganda the WEP began in Entebbe, after recognizing the successes of WEP in Kampala. (WEP: Women Economic Empowerment Program)
